Lead by Tracy Vaillancourt, PhD and Daphne Korczak, MD, the HPRS examines the health and peer relations of Ontario students.
Using an accelerated longitudinal population-based study, we aim to monitor Ontario students in Grades 4 to 12 to provide accurate reports to schools and the school boards so that timely evidence-based decisions can be made to help promote health, reduce violence, and improve school climate.
Students are surveyed during class time. The survey only takes than 20 minutes for students in Grade 4 to 6 to complete and 15 minutes for students in Grades 7 to 12 to complete.
The HPRS surveys students on the following measures:
Physical health, Mental health and well-being, Sleep, Physical activity
Bullying, School safety, Discrimination
Loneliness, Belonging, Mattering
School climate, Attendance, Mental health support, School rules
We are grateful to our funders, Canada First Research Excellence Fund and the uOttawa Brain-Heart Interconnectome (BHI).
